Yusuf al-Nabahani was a famous Sufi (Shadhili order) who dedicated his efforts to campaign against the ‘Wahhabi’ movement and also wrote against Shaykh al-Islam ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him). He served as a qadi (judge) in the Ottoman Empire and sent his daughter’s son, Taqiuddin al-Nabhani, to his colleagues and teachers at Al-Azhar University in Cairo.
